Trump wanted the "nuclear option" to open the government.

But the Senate didn't need it. They passed the vote 81-18 !

Donald had to be surprised at those numbers, don't you think?

He was probably hoping they don't vote together on anything else. He loves division and this was not a good sign for him. It was bad in so many ways for Donald Trump.

The magic number is "two-thirds". That is what is needed to convict in the Senate.

during their ridiculous ACA repeal, repeal/replace, repeal/don't replace, don't replace/sabatage charade. When they only needed 51 votes.

He doesn't know what it means. Period.

THAT will be the theme of the next Congress. Trumpy has few options, all of them extra-Constitutional. Putin has more options.

They didn't even get 100% of Republicans, so unless he means only requiring 45% to pass, changing the rules wouldn't have mattered.
