The greatest risk for civilization collapse is income disparity, but add a huge natural disaster to the mix and things really fall apart.

We will all be dead. But just in case, I have a few earthquake kits around the property in WA, and one in our vehicles.

Basically when there was thought to be a tsunami threat, the recommendation was to evacuate homes within three blocks of the coast, and within five blocks of the bay. This was interesting because I had always assumed that homes on the coast were more vulnerable to tsunami. Perhaps the more gradual slope of land around the bay, vs the usual cliffs along the coast, played a factor. However as I recall there are some quite flat sections of the coastline, most notably the outer Sunset district in SF.

Strange!
