Team Rob! Portman and Romney’s Crazy-Sexy-Amazing Chemistry

A Mitt Romney operative is feeding fuel to the wild, untamed, scorching Rob-Portman-for-vice-president fire (ow, ow! Human impression of sizzling sound!) by describing in scintillating detail his boss’s passionate, wanton acquaintanceship with the Ohio senator.

“They feed off each other,” Ohio Romney campaign state director Scott Jennings revealed. “And it created a really positive dynamic all day long on that bus trip.” What bus trip, you ask? None other than Romney’s mid-June Rust Belt roundabout, which featured cameos from both Portman and Tim Pawlenty, veep challenger and homeopathic sleep aid.

At the time, The New York Times also noted Portman and Romney’s impassioned, fervent familiarity. “In the privacy of Mr. Romney’s bus, the two chatted about politics and policy as they chugged across Ohio. Mr. Portman even helped clean up some of Mr. Romney’s grandchildren, who were out on the road for the day and messy from blueberry pie.”

Romney operative/Team Rob diehard Scott Jennings recalled of that very bus journey: “I saw two guys who were comfortable with each other (and) unified in their message.” That message: we need to stop for more napkins or these blueberries are going to stain.
