Poll: Vast majority of Americans say presidents should be required to take mental health exam

Nearly eight in 10 Americans say a president should be required to take an annual mental health examination while in office, according to a new poll from CNN.

The poll found that 77 percent of respondents said a president should be required to undergo an annual exam that would check for mental health concerns like Alzheimer’s Disease. An even larger number–82 percent–of respondents said a president should be required to take an annual physical exam.

Survey respondents were split on whether the results of those exams should be made public. Forty-eight percent said they should be, and 49 percent said they should remain private. When the same question was asked in 2004, more than 60 percent said the information should remain private.

Democrats were largely responsible for the shift in public opinion on the privacy of presidents’ health information, with only 37 percent saying presidents should have the right to keep the information private, a 20-point drop from the 2004 results.

Democrats were also significantly more likely than Republicans to support mandatory mental health exams–93 percent of Democrats to Republicans’ 61 percent.

I'm 5'9" and 160. I have a 32 inch waist. Does ANYBODY really believe that the physique in question outweighs me by only 80 pounds when 6 full inches taller?

Didn't think so.

I know, I know, assuming they could locate it. But a scan might pick up signs of “changes,” to state it politely.

And he should undergo a battery of psychiatric exams. Not that he ever will.

Results were negative. Completely negative as in the absence of ANY findings. They did detect helium though.
