(1,202 posts)...was to be courteous, and ignore the jabs. Assuming that at some point he would move eventually on.
I think they have realized Trump is relentless, harmful and vindictive and will try to pursue them into bankruptcy. Finally they have realized that fighting back is really the only option to dealing with the bully.

(65,326 posts)Nobody at CNN ever heard of a bully.
BoneyardDem
(1,202 posts)Translation for those inclined to misinterpret: "CNN never assumed that a POTUS would abuse their power to bully the press to this extent"
ProfessorGAC
(65,326 posts)But, they did know he was a bully, and the Andy Griffith Show did 4 dealing with a bully episodes in the early 60's
POTUS or not, a bully is a bully
They should have known better!

(1,202 posts)If they came down blasting Trump from the get go, without a shred of respect for the office, it would have been publicly much, much worse for their reputation. I doubt CNN foolishly or naively didn't know Trump was a bully as you hinted at in your earlier post. They played a publicity game that went well for them, and poorly for Trump in the long run.

(65,326 posts)HRC was giving a speech in which she was laying out her multi step plan for job growth and taxation. CNN cut away from her SPEECH to await an arrival by "it" and showed an empty podium for 11 minutes, talking about what "it" MIGHT be talking about today. When "It" spoke, it was the same old "crooked Hillary" nonsense and they kept their cameras on an empty podium while she was in the middle of a speech.
I think you give CNN more credit than they deserve.

impass: started where you attempted to re-interpret what I said, then decided to dig in your heels to make yourself be the correct (and by that I mean the final) say on the matter.
Which in and of itself is interesting since I just came across this statement of yours "9. Don't Accuse Me Of Things I Didn't Say".
ProfessorGAC
(65,326 posts)No idea where you're getting that. I'm telling you why i don't trust CNN the way you do. We don't have to agree about CNN. We each have our own views.
I'm just explaining why my trust is lower than your trust in them.

(6,288 posts)As long as I have followed him, I've never known him to mince words nor back down.
He takes it to the NRA, Assange & Russia, and tracks down RU bot networks.
This is why I will also defend Louise Mensch, Claude Taylor, John Schindler, Eric Garland & Countercheckist.
There is a big reason why they are attacked & threatened & Tea Pain will show you why.
His book is a jewel to read for anyone who takes the threat of a coup seriously, & believes in the vigilant defense of the USA.
Whoever Tea Pain is in real life, he is one fine solid patriot.

Its been pretty interesting watching how Tea & his peeps track down trolls & bot accts. They are no amatures to how that stuff works

(56,829 posts)when somebody put one of those memes on Twitter that listed a bunch of Trump failures... Trump Steaks - Failed; Trump Water - Failed; etc.
At the bottom was "Trump First Marriage - failed" and then "Trump Second Marriage - failed"
So, I replied with a retweet of "Trump Third Marriage - Forecast Stormy"

Coolest group to belong to!
Congrats &
most of my tweets are about nerdy/geeky entertainment stuff - Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, etc.
Most of my political posts are replies or retweets of Seth Abramson, RVA Wonk, the Krassenstein brothers, and several others with my own snark added in.
My most liked post ever was early last year not long after Kellyanne Conway first used "alternative facts" - Josh Marshall of Talking Ponts Memo got into a dispute with Neo Nazi Richard Spencer, and Spencer had whined about how liberals were so violent and a supporter of his (or maybe Spencer himself) posted a GIF of him getting slugged on camera. So, I had responded, "That wasn't a punch, that was an alternative hug" - that one got up over 2,000 likes.

(14,178 posts)I want to grab some popcorn and watch the evangelicals stutter and stumble in defending the whole thing. Probably blame Melania.
Also, you'd set up a catch 22 for the 'moral majority' minority that was all in a pretend huff at Hillary for not divorcing Bill over a BJ in the WH.
Wwcd
(6,288 posts)Get in and get what you can, while you can Melania!

(12,051 posts)gee, how come they aren't howling for Melania to dump HER fuck-around husband???
LiberalLovinLug
(14,178 posts)They can't be seen blaming her when they called on Hillary to do the same for much less
And they can't blame their Holy Emperor for anything, ever.
So where does that leave them?
Oh, I forgot, they can always blame Democrats! And 'fake news'. They made life simply unbearable for the poor dear. And they wrecked one of the greatest committed romances in modern history!

(56,829 posts)I had predicted that it Trump lost, we'd hear about Melania quietly divorcing Trump within a few months after the election. I still believe that is true.

(4,548 posts)Been following him for the better part of the past year. Not only is he funny, but he's also really good at putting pieces of the news puzzle together, explaining, pointing out relationships, and tying it together. His tweets always make me feel better. All of Team Patriot are worth following, IMO. I don't have time to tweet, but I read my Twitter feed several times a day. It helps me stay sane! (I think so anyway. LOL)
