GOP rep facing sexual harassment claims says aide 'invited' behavior

Rep. Pat Meehan (R-Pa.) said Tuesday that the aide who accused him of sexual harassment had “invited” the behavior in question.

“That I would find later that that was not something that she was comfortable with, really hurts me,” Meehan told the The New York Times in an interview. “This was a person who specifically invited communication with me so that she would be able to have the ability to be there for me.”

The former aide, whose name is not public but who is decades younger than Meehan, accused the congressman of hostile behavior after he learned that she was in a relationship with someone near her age.

Meehan told the Times on Tuesday that he didn’t respond “as well as [he] would like to have” after learning of the aide’s relationship. She filed a complaint against the congressman, who is 62 and married with three children, accusing him of becoming “hostile” in the incident.

. . .that this buffoon is telling the truth about who initiated things.

Wouldn't it be simple for a married man to simply discourage such behavior in a subordinate 30 years younger by saying "That's inappropriate workplace behavior. Don't let it happen again."

Then no scandal. So, this puke is just looking for an excuse to weasel out of the public shame light.

Predatory Case that send the Gymnastic Doc to prison is now the new face of Society Norms when any Sexual harassment or predatory claims surface.

This congress person will be gone before Summer Time. Understand his District is another Gerrymandered district made up of Religious Thumpers.

That in one of the ‘Love letters’ he wrote to her that he voted against the Obamacare repeal and ‘stood up to Trump and Ryan’ thinking of her. Silly me for thinking he might have cared about the American people. He was just living his fantasy where they were soulmates and he went against his party because he was a rebel for Love.

and that is why she was paid a settlement. The fact that he is still obsessed and delusional over the nature of their "relationship" only serves to reinforce the troubling nature of his behavior.

She was his fucking AIDE. Yeah, employees do usually give their contact info to their boss. This guy gets more pathetic by the moment. His children must be absolutely CRINGING right now. I can't imagine what his wife is feeling. He needs help.
