Brian Krassenstein🐬 @krassenstein 28m28 minutes agoLast Night, Trump 'Liked" this Tweet about his friend Steve Wynn forcing employees to perform sex acts...
I'm just speechless...
He deleted it, but...what comes after 'mulligan?'

(58,724 posts)I could post a bunch of photos of Trump and Clinton schmoozing together - but that would be silly.
Here's some info about Trump and Wynn, if you are genuinely interested:

The animosity goes back a long time and runs very deep. Wynn did start kissing up to Trump once it was clear he was going to become president, but anyone who has been following these guys knows they despise each other.

...but he has a deep and personal business and political relationship with Steve Wynn, as do many prominent and marginal republicans.
The rest about Democrats isn't going to fly. This president of the United States and the republican party are tied to the hip with Wynn. They made up and Wynn is a frickin treasurer for the RNC.
The response that they're rivals is a poor distraction, dodge, equivocation, or whatever you (or anyone else) intends it to be.

(58,724 posts)But they have historically been at each other and have had a quite longstanding feud. I guess "frenemies" perhaps is the most apt term.

(86,005 posts)...what's important are the political ties and the money that's flowed to Trump's campaign and others'.
Trump liking' this tweet is a good example of the way his ignorance almost always draws more attention to the worst aspects of whatever he's trying to deflect from.
oberliner
(58,724 posts)I guess what I mean is that they are sometimes rivals and sometimes allies depending on the situation - but my view from following some of their past feuds is that they do not seem to like each other. Perhaps they are both the sorts of people who simply don't have actual friends.
I do wonder though if Trump "liked" the tweet out of ignorance or to stick it to Wynn. But, I guess, even wondering about that is silly and pointless - as there are much more important issues to focus on.
One being the disgusting sexual harassment outlined in the recent NY Times article about Wynn (to say nothing of the same sort of behavior from Trump).

As of 2016, he identified as a Democrat:
"Wynn, a Democrat, is notoriously outspoken..."

(53,342 posts)One doesnt go from voting for Obama to heading RNC financing.
I have to wonder how thick with Russia he is, too

(58,724 posts)I certainly accept the possibility that he is lying in that interview. He is an awful person in every respect.

(38,475 posts)A lot of people pose as Democrats, especially on the internet.
He is the RNC finance chairman.

(58,724 posts)It's quite possible he was full of it. He seems like an awful person in every respect - regardless of whom he might have voted for.

(65,168 posts)That seems the opposite of despise! Despising doesn't stop because someone else is a big shot.
That's illogical.
They're relationship is something other than you describe.
I don't pretend to know what is, but despise is not what it is
oberliner
(58,724 posts)Not that hard to understand.

(58,724 posts)It is really obvious how awful they both are - friends or enemies, Trump and Wynn both have been abusing their power for far too long and need to go away.
Grasp those straws!

(58,724 posts)Here is an excerpt from The Huffington Post:
For decades, Trump and Wynn competed to build monument-like casinos bearing their names from coast to coast. At times, their bitter fighting played out on the public stage, including allegations of corporate espionage, inappropriate involvement in state Senate races, and even a $150 million anti-trust lawsuit where Wynn alleged that Trump launched a conspiracy against him.
In fact, fighting between the two rivals was so bitter that Wynn once charged in the Wall Street Journal that Trump was all hat and no cattle. And years later, Trump told New York Magazine that Wynn had a lot of psychological problems and was quite disturbed. At times their rivalry and fighting seemed straight out of a movieso much so that HBO tapped Danny DeVito to direct Trump vs. Wynn, a never-made film accounting their decades long competition.

I don't even understand why it would be controversial (or hilarious?) to point out their historical enmity.
