I have one question for the parents of Dr. Nasser's victims?

And other adults close to Nasser, also? When these young girls went to them and said he was abusing them? They all looked away and they were told nothing was going happen and the girls needed to focus on the team! This man was responsible for what he did and so should the others who looked away! This should have been stopped the very 1st time it happened! My question is how can these people even look in themselves in a mirror and they are not responsible for the action of Nasser? I perplexed and bewildered of the moral values of America, especially when we now have a president who abuses those around and it's ok to look the other way?

it was found to be a read medical procedure.

Apparently it is a very very rare procedure done only with parents consent.

nassar is very manipulative. I don't blame the parents. Many of them did speak up when they knew.

It's just not that cut and dry.

The girls knew something was wrong and people should have listened and check things out then! I get your point, but we live in a society where it is not "my place" to do fix the problem.

There's no reason to suggest any parent was a co-conspirator of Nassar. Many did come forward. Others just didn't know what was going on.

All I know is the women have said, "if only one adult came forward" it could have saved so many from harm. Does this include their parents?

He even convinced police and prosecutors he was doing legit medical treatments, up until recently.

report the abuse, yet Nassar convinced police he was doing legit medical treatment so nothing was done.

"Ten years before Thomashow told Michigan State University police in 2014, a girl and her parents told the Meridian Township (Mich.) Police Department that Nassar sexually assaulted her during a medical appointment. Nassar met with police and the girl's parents and told them what he did was medical."

I firmly believe those parents are now blaming themselves for being duped.

Including prosecutors and police. He was reported more than one time, and only the last go around he got charged.

"On July 1, 2015, university police submitted a warrant request for a fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct charge, a misdemeanor. On Dec. 15, 2015, prosecutors denied the charges and said what Nassar did appeared to be "a very innovative and helpful manipulation," emails related to the denial of charges show. "

When you're in an elite organization and your kid is hurting, and the doctor says what he's doing will make your kid stop hurting, it's very easy to believe that the discomfort your kid is telling you about is part of the legitimate treatment.

17. How do you know no one came forward?

Plenty of people responded to you on this thread. Evidently enough was said that police talked to him and were told he did medical procedures.

Unfortunately many sexual predators are quite good at building good defenses around their predation. Like priests, doctors have “authority”. They’re therefore powerful and can get away with their predation forever sometimes.

Sexual predators pick professions and activities that get them close to their prey, and they manipulate everyone into trusting them.
