I searched for "memo," and only found one from yesterday about this, with 9 responses.
To me this is the worst think that has happened to our system of government since Trump was elected. If one party can so blatantly suppress the voice of the other party, it sounds more like Uganda under Idi Amin than the land of the free and the home of the brave.
Maybe I just didn't search for the right thing?????
Aren't we all scared????

(11,031 posts)This is not a time for the Democrats in Congress to cave. The time has come for Democrats to dig in and proactively fight back.
The Democrats in Congress need to have a retreat in a remote location and develop a cohesive plan to fight back. Everyone needs to be on the same page and wage a coordinated campaign against Trump and the Republicans. They need to be so relentless in getting out in front of the press that the MSM cannot ignore them. They need to be talking to the international press as well because you know they will use videos and publish articles about what is going on. They need to bring their fight to the world stage and humiliate the every loving crap out of Trump and the Rethugs. They need to part of the organizing of the masses.
If things do not change I can envision a day when apartheid finds its ugly head in the US. There has always been racism in the US but it is being much more prolific because of the groups that cannot stand the fact that Caucasians are headed towards minority status. They will fight tooth and nail to prevent that and, if the Rethugs gain permanent control over this country, apartheid is not out of the question.

Schiff can go on and release the Democratic counter-memo (assuming he vetted it through the IC and redacts if needed).
Some things from their side are done as a "trap" to provoke a hurried and disjointed response, so if there is a response from Democrats, it must be done to neuter any trap and maximize the benefit.

(137,862 posts)It was a transcript of a non-public hearing, but it was not "classified".
The issue here is whether the assertion of the memo containing "classified" info is confirmed at all, given that the DOJ has not been permitted to review first.
