Think about it. They're being mercilessly trashed and maligned by their own party for doing their jobs. Not only are they NOT likely to remain party faithful it's a pretty sure bet they'll put all they've got into the investigation to make it perfect and get results.

And the mainstream GOP on the warpath against them doesn't give a shit. It's a better gamble to throw their buddies under the bus than to face the music. It's all about them and what they hope to get away with. Anyone who says Republicans put party before country is only half-right. They put THEMSELVES first, period. Anyone else who gets in their way, even fellow Republicans, is disposable.

Take a look at the bullshit they engage in every primary season - mercilessly trashing and reviling one another.

"This asshole can't be trusted since he's inherently dishonest and probably molests his kids," Republican A will say about Republican B.

Then Republican B wins the primary and faces the Democrat, and suddenly Republican A is singing B's praises as "the most honest person I've ever met who is a role model for us all."

Literally not an ounce of loyalty, integrity or decency.

There is 35% of the population that will NEVER, EVER, EVER become Democrats. Perhaps, a very few will become so-called Independents, but when election time rolls around, they'll go back to the one that brung them.
