Two Republican lawmakers, who unsuccessfully tried to make the Holy Bible the official state book, are teaming up on a new idea: creating a monument to unborn children.
Rep. Jerry Sexton, R-Bean Station, and Sen. Steve Southerland, R-Morristown, have introduced a bill that would require the State Capitol Commission to initiate a plan to commission a memorial in dedication to and in recognition of unborn children in this state.
The commission would be required to solicit public input for developing a plan, which would include design proposals. The memorial would be located on the grounds of the state Capitol, according to the legislation.
The legislation, HB 2381, does not go into many specifics other than to say the commission would be able to accept gifts, grants and donations from nonstate sources to create the memorial. The bill notes that no state resources should be used to develop and implement the plan.

OP
How about a monument for children who died for lack of medical care because they were poor?

Will that be right next to the starved, frozen, non-medical insuranced to death child statue?

Considering this is to be a self-righteous monument against abortion, here is my design:

Then Tennessee should be required to create a cemetery to include a grave for all of them.

Sexton is the idiot who wanted to make the Bible the official book of Tennessee

(63,221 posts)4. That would be a much better idea, but it will never happen
because the truth is that they really don't care. The whole point of this is to shame women, not to show any kind of concern for children, born or unborn.

That affects young and old people. And it affects the families, of both the victim and the shooter.

How about a monument to children born unwanted or unaffordable and are actually murdered by parents after a long or short period of abuse and neglect? Where are the prolifers when the already born scream?

Along with grave markers identifying the names and dates.
