Chump voters are people who have been hit hard economically. They believe in Chump because, in their minds, they have no other option. They believe that he and he alone can get them back on their feet.
Of course, they are incorrect. I'll be charitable here and say that they are, "misguided."
There is no such thing as beautiful, clean coal. There is pollution and black lung. Insfead of keeping people working in a dead-end industry like coal, they should be retrained - while being paid - to work in solar, wind, and hydro. Hydro works all the time, even when it's not sunny, because it depemds upon waves, and the moon isn't changing orbits anytime soon. Plus it's 100% clean.
This the problem with conservatism - they don't like change. One must embrace the future. Life is change. Cons want neither societal nor economic change, but they sure love their newest model iPhones and Twitter. It's hypocrisy.
If Cons really cared about their constiuents, they would be pushing for retraining and reeducation plans. This costs money, and requires budgeting. Instead, all we hear about is how some minimum-wage worker is going to get a $0.50 increase on their paycheck from rich people's tax cuts.
It's obscene what they're doing to their constituents, and the real tragedy is that their constituents support them 100%.
