Soon as he mentioned it and said he had seen it 5 times just yesterday I inquired if it was the one with Romney singing God Bless America. He said he couldn't remember any singing but he described the ad in great detail. He repeated every word that was shown on the screen during that video but he was unable to recall whether Romney was singing in it or not.
Now I know damn sure it was the same ad I have seen over and over again in this media market. The singing Romney. But he didn't even remember Romney singing in it. And I also know his TV volume wasn't turned down too. Because whenever I call him on the phone no matter what he is watching it is turned up to the maximum.
But even though he couldn't remember the singing he listed every word that was written on the screen during that ad.
Weird how peoples minds work isn't it?

(It's goes to learning styles: some people are visual learners, some are aural learners, some are kinetic learners, some are social learners, and some are global learners. Your friend is probably a visual learner.)
on edit: Yep, it was American the Beautiful and the ad is called "Firms"

(5,032 posts)Not everyone processes music and sound the same way.
There are people out there who are voice deaf and can't recognize voices out of context and there are people who can't tell one piece of music from an other except in general ways. There are even people who are Rhythm deaf which is even hard to imagine.
Hearing loss of all sorts can be coupled with this and If the person has loud things on all the time this may be pointing to a much larger problem and hearing loss is just the tip of these. You might want to get them a little help.
