I hate the way Ms. Hill was treated but some things we have to let go. We can hold something against everyone if we look closely enough.

Edit to add- I am a vet the middle of 5 generations of veterans. I served during the Vietnam era but not in Nam.

I wish how they could be president instead and how much better things would be if they were.

That decision haunts us to this day.

To paraphrase Biden from a different context, that was a big f...ing deal.

His record on civil rights is not so great - and will come back to haunt him if he runs. Among other things, he lined up with the anti-civil rights crowd on school desegregation and busing and stabbed the black community in the back. Black voters gave him a pass because he was Obama's running mate, but it will be a problem for him.

And let's not forget his vote on the Iraq War, the Crime Bill and other things that Hillary was crucified by the left over, not to mention plagiarism and his propensity for gaffes, that may seem charming to some when he's playing second fiddle but won't wear so well if he's the candidate.

Biden is enjoying a honeymoon and lots of amnesia and inaccurate nostalgia. But if gets in the race, he'll be fair game and it might not be pretty.

We have a great bench of current and active pols who, I think, have a lot more to offer.

I'm ready to root for them!

But agree that we have a deep bench and he's not our best hope.

And I deeply resent the cheerleading for him as the Great White Male Hope while Hillary Clinton is told to shut up and go away.

I think he is a good man with a good heart. He is a seriously mixed bag when it comes to economic issues. When there is a clear divide, as economic issues normally have a major social component, he is often excellent on social issues.

I don’t blame anyone who immediately thinks of Hill when Biden comes up. I have no interest in forgiving him for it. I also really like the guy.
