Senate Judiciary to release transcripts of Trump Jr. interview on meeting with Russian lawyer

The Senate Judiciary Committee is preparing to release the remaining transcripts from its interviews with people present at the infamous 2016 Trump Tower meeting.

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), the chairman of the committee, wrote to ranking member Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) on Thursday asking for a timeline for the release of the full testimonies from six witnesses interviewed by the committee.

The committee will release transcripts from six individuals present at the meeting, including the testimony of Donald Trump Jr., who organized the meeting with a Russian lawyer in an effort to gather damaging opposition research on Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

The chairman said in the letter that the committee should also consider the possible use of compulsory process to summon witnesses to hearings, following the release of the testimonies.
