The regional rail was closed yesterday so I rode the bus from the parade. It was full of people who were exuberant from the parade and also those who had struggled into work amidst the parade chaos. The woman behind me was watching continuous coverage of the parade on her cell. She said loudly for the crowded bus to hear, I bet Trump will say there were more people at his inauguration than at todays parade. Some people laughed. Across from her was a woman who was approximately 3 1/2 ft tall who had some physical disabilities. She said loud enough for everyone to hear, I cannot even look at him after the way he mocked disabled people. There was some discomfort that rippled through the bus. The older man next to her was wearing a Veterans of Foreign Wars cap. He bellowed, well you know what pisses me off? His handling of North Korea. I fought in the Korean War and he is stupid to be rattling that hornets nest with his stupid tweets! The woman next to him, who had spoken earlier, added, and I hate how he insults people by calling them Little Whoever as if Little is a demeaning insult. The bus went dead silent at that poignant comment from this woman. You could have heard a pin drop on this rowdy bus. Then, the man next to me, spoke loudly with some difficulty since he was missing many teeth and looked exhausted, Well, he said breaking the silence, we all gotta vote because this Trump guy is an ass! The community on the bus laughed together, settled back in our seats and sang Fly Eagles Fly one more time.

Thanks so much for sharing this. Ameicans from all walks of life afre getting fed up. I have been less timid about public affirmation of resistance in non protest situations, because I have been afraid of the blow back from tRumpers. This will embolden me.
I am a life long Eagles fan and this really put the wind beneath my wings today.

My son is a little person (dwarfism) so I appreciate the lady who noted that "little" should not be a demeaning insult. I find a lot of hope in this whole paragraph.
