including the CIA being worried about receiving that information.

I hope Russia decides to dump what they have. It will cause a crisis in this country.....but we already are in crisis. So- fine by me.

Clear the deck and normalize relations. I just don't know who the new President will be. I strongly suspect Pence will finish out the term (assuming Trump leaves or is removed) since he at least can stay on a script. I also suspect he might not make the mistake of the last person in this position - Gerald Ford. He may let the hounds rip Trump's carcass up. I would. I think he is actually pretty offended by Trump.

... has long since moved past the question of guilt on the part of Trump and a few others. The obstruction is obvious and therefore a crime can be assumed by us, the outsiders. The investigators certainly know it, by now.

But what's just as important is making sure that the successor isn't also some sort of a Russian plant, a necessarily smarter, more competent one, no matter what other fucking god-damned human on earth it is to whom the job devolves.

Excuse me. I was frothing, there.

I think a large part of this investigation has been used to carefully verify the clearances of everyone in line of succession to the Presidency, and to ensure that some sort of leverage can be used on everyone who should not be in line of succession.

Paul Ryan appears to have had a role in suppressing information that would have informed the public about Trump's Russian ties, before the election. If Pence is on the hook for something like that, too, then the Special Investigator might be trying to find out if Orrin Hatch is really as honest at he pretends to be. And if Hatch can't be the guy, you've got to go straight into the stupid-den of the Trump cabinet to find the next President, unless you can play a Congressional doe-see-doe and switch out the VP before the hammer drops.

But honestly, I think everyone agrees at this point that the criminal's criminal disinterest in his own job is working in everyone's favor.

Dan Coats, the director of national intelligence and thus the man supposedly in charge of the entire U.S. intelligence community, has said he does not see it as his role to push for an aggressive Trump-Russia investigation, according to a source familiar with the matter.

Okay then, I feel all warm and fuzzy now...our country is in good hands, right Mr. Coats..

The heads of the FSB, SVR, and GRU were in DC 2 weeks ago - one of whom is sanctioned. I can’t stress enough how extraordinary this event was. Mike Pompeo claimed it was related to counterterrorism but that is utter bullshit. CT cooperation between intel services is handled at a much lower, routine level. I’m convinced they were here in connection with whatever kompromat the Russian have on Trump personally. It’s the only explanation that makes sense. This is about as serious as it gets. I’m sure the Russians don’t just want money for whatever it is they have - they have plenty of money of their own. Something very, very dark is afoot.
