Eric Trump Gets Mercilessly Mocked On Twitter Over New Magazine

On Friday, President Donald Trump’s second son shared a snap of what looked to be the front cover of a new “Trump” magazine to Twitter:

He captioned the photograph, which features an image of Trump International Hotel in Washington, with the hashtag #HotOffThePress.

Trump offered no more information on the publication, which promotes Trump properties on the cover. It’s not clear when it will be available, how often it will be published, how many pages it contains or whether it will be sold on newsstands.

But Time noted  it could be the latest attempt by the Trump family to enter the magazine industry. Its last title, “Trump Magazine,” was reportedly closed in 2009 following the global financial crisis, per the New York Post.

As an aside, I haven’t been in the old post office for probably 20 years, despite several trips to DC, but I remember there being a mall inside. Is the mall area still there or is that a long gone memory??

1100 Pa. Ave., opened Oct. 2016. It's the Old Post Office Bldg., built in 1899 which served as the city's main post office for many years. From the photos, the place is now quite upscale and glitzy inside with very high priced menu items, beyond comparable DC hotels. The building's Bell Tower which is operated by the National Park Service offers terrific skyline views of the capital.

The Old Post Office was renovated in 80s, 90s with The Pavilion Mall inside, including retail shops and food court.
Sometimes on weekdays from work we'd go there briefly for lunch. The historic property has gone through quite a few changes over the years, but still stands.

That trip to DC was my first in 93....I’ve been back many many times since then for meetings and events and, sadly, funerals at Arlington. Love that place, but I have wondered about that mall for years. We visited there a day after we had been in NYC and watched “Phantom” on Broadway...I bought the London Soundtrack to that musical in the mall there and wrote a poem about my experience at the Vietnam Memorial on the cardboard backing of that CD case, yeah that’s when they sold CD’s in big cardboard packages...that poem was read at the wall by a park ranger and a copy hangs on a wall at my mom’s house...sorry for the memory journey, just shedding some light on why I asked, lol.

9. Officials use taxpayer funds to stay at luxury Trump properties

By Whitney Webb - Feb 10, 2018

... a new FOIA release from an individual agency has shown that Trump-owned properties have been receiving substantial amounts of government funds in what appears to be a violation of the emoluments clause. The document, released by the General Services Administration (GSA) via a FOIA request reveals that the GSA spent $1,760.46 in just three days at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C.

This is by no means an isolated incident. Previous FOIA requests turned up several examples of federal staff using government charge cards (i.e. taxpayer funds) to stay at resorts owned by Trump. For instance, last year, a FOIA document revealed that the White House National Security Council (NSC) paid the full price of $1,000 for a two night stay of a single, unidentified guest at Trump’s luxury hotel Mar-a-Lago. According to financial disclosures filings, Trump holds a 99.99% stake in Mar-a-Lago and its profits are held in a revocable trust and Trump is able to withdraw funds from that trust without restriction ...

Clearly the gist of the rag is promoting Trump properties. I imagine between the "articles" about his hotels there's of plenty of advertising.

It'd be like buying a magazine called "WalMart Today".

Who the fuck wants to read ads ... with ads?

But things are different this time. The Trumps know that since they are now in the White House, people will buy whatever they are selling in order to curry favor with the White House. Foreigners/entities can get around campaign finance rules by buying ads in Trump magazine. It's simply a bribery vehicle.

As if we don't see enough of them already. I can't wait for this house of cards to fall.
