They're already dead.
What are they praying for? That they don't get deader?
Are they praying for the surviving families to find peace? They won't.
My response to anyone who casually says "thoughts and prayers" is...
"Just remember that God sat out the Holocaust" (I heard that somewhere and stole it).

If someone believes in God, and that God made man to have free will, then instead of saying thoughts and prayers, religious people should be slapping gun nuts in the head with a 2 x 4, imploring them to get their heads out of their asses and to fix the gun problem, instead of relying on a piece of paper written over 200 years ago when the world did not have these problems.
