The worst chaos in a Presidential administration in my life time, how are Trump's polls improving?

I follow polls and I believe them. They all need interpretation, as they are only accurate at the point that the pollster actually talks to the potential voter. There are many factors to consider on the actual out come of the of the election, such as enthusiasm and commitment of the subjects. I'm so sick and tired of listening to people say that the pollsters "got it wrong" in 2016. They had Hillary by 2 or 3 points on election day. That was accurate. Some state polls were off, and again, enthusiasm matters.

Yet, here I am, a 65 year old American Male, who has been politically active at every level of government since 1968, and I can't believe my eyes. I have not seen such utter chaos in a Presidential administration. Not even close. The porn star would have brought down any other administration in my life time. It's ranked near the bottom of the 100 worse things this President and his administration have done.

Yet, in the midst of this most hellish dream, Trump's approval numbers have recently increased. I can't make a credible case for a reason, as the Racist and Misogynistic remarks continue, day after day. It's an administration whose best defense is incompetence. Let that sink in. I'm not saying that just Trump's detractors accuse him or his staff of incompetence, they actually defend themselves, after they get caught braking laws, rules or protocol, by claiming incompetence.

I have a theory that the polls could be showing a more favorable look on Trump's approval by using a likely voter scenario. If the pollsters use the same formula as in 2016, they will be off quite a bit, in my opinion. I think people who never, or rarely vote in a mid-term, will turn out in droves. And, I believe, many moderate Republicans who usually come out in mid-terms, may vote against Trump, or stay home.

I actually posted this to see if anyone else has some theories about this. I have linked you to the 538 accumulation of recent polls and the trend line that concerns me.

There are no videos of him in bed with a boy. The bar has been set that low.

His numbers rose after the tax law passed. They rose even more after they saw a change in their paychecks. People are short sighted and self centered.

I don't get it?! There are more and more announced lay offs and there was the roller coaster stock market. I guess it goes back to why I said he would win from the second I saw him go down the escalator...Americans have the memory of a gnat and the brains of a sack of hair. Now I will hear from DUers telling me to speak for myself. All I can say is that I was right all along and will continue to say that until proven otherwise.

Most polls including the NYT, VOX and ppp have us with a very good chance that of taking the house. This will be the best way to neuter the bastard! All pollls within the last 24-36 hrs . We have to stop paying attention to dotard and plot our on course

I am always dismayed at the number of people I talk with who really don’t care about politics. They simply do not believe it affects their lives, and if something awful occurs in the White House (if they even know about it) they are quick to dismiss it with the “both sides do it” BS.

there are actually people dumb enough to think they are better off because their weekly check went up $10 or so due to the tax scam, when a progressive tax plan would give them much more.

He's gotten a 5% boost or so from what i've seen but it will evaporate in a month or two.

It is a way of normalizing his behavior. After getting the SOS (same ol’ sh*t) day after day, we have just grown numb to it, sadly. No one does anything to stop him. He just does despicable things day after day and apparently has gotten away with it. We learn how he is dismantling our government, the agencies, the organizations that make our country run. He has more plans to take things apart, bit by bit. No one does anything except throw up their hands and say, “Ain’t it awful?”

So his method has worked. He has just worn us down. And some people are just numb so when they answer a survey, they don’t Have the intense feelings they had a year ago. I am trying desperately not to go numb.
