(115,714 posts)and his minions, aren't even sincere. Does anyone really believe Trump is thinking and praying about this incident at all? I'll give at least a little credit to those who genuinely care, but if Trump is thinking about anything at all it will be how he can protect the NRA from any renewed demands for some kind of gun control.

(146,317 posts)Are going out never actually think or pray at all. It's just lip service.

(52,243 posts)Certainly, *saying* my thoughts and prayers are going out is very different from actually thinking and praying.

(146,317 posts)That's the only thing that does. Thoughts do nothing, and neither do prayers. We need laws with teeth that keep guns out of people's hands. We need controls that actually do something.

(42,641 posts)I have 3 meetings scheduled this week dealing with 2 political campaigns. One for the 3rd Congressional District seat, another for my State Rep. We have an excellent progressive running for Congress in Marie Newman. She is pro-choice, and economically progressive as well.
So far she has been endorsed by the SEIU and a few Illinois politicians. A few of us from our church group will be phoning and walking to pass out literature.
I prefer prayer and action.
