as I was walking down a well lit, "safe" street in the city San Diego 30 years ago. I still remember it like it was yesterday. You don't ever forget that sound or seeing the glass door next to you shatter.
I was also a teacher when we had begun to have "routine" active gunman drills at my school site 3 weeks after Sandy Hook when I taught first graders. Tonight I am grateful that I am no longer teaching. Being a teacher is not what it used to be for a lot of reasons. This makes getting sick from kid germs half of the school year look like a picnic. I will definitely need to take an Ambien tonight.

We were walking through my uncle's field going to teepee a friends house when the neighbor starting shooting (I would like to think) above our heads. Pretty sure it was an automatic rifle. Scary stuff for a group of 15 and 16 year olds

I was the one who got to talk him down (at age 17) while my aunt and grandmother cowered in the kitchen the floor below us. My Dad was a Vietnam Vet and had PTSD before it was a generally accepted diagnosis. The VA never helped him one bit either. Ain't America grand? What I would like to know is how the hell did he get his hands on that damn grenade? Never did find out.

I'm having a glass of wine and a sleeping pill myself tonight.

We follow the biggest group of cowards to ever walk this Earth, and we elect them over and over. All they ask of their donors (NRA, oil Co's, et al) is when they want their asses kissed. We NEVER would have won WWII with these jellyfish in charge. If this is Trump's idea of "making America great again", he is a raving success and this country is fucked.

The world watches and thanks whatever Deity they follow that they don't live in America.

We have become one of the most vicious, unethical, selfish, uncaring, dangerous and stupid countries in the world.

Potential immigrants are probably better off staying away from the USA.

In 2017 the cost to raise a child was estimated to be $233,610. Factoring in the NRA campaign contributions these Senators received, the figures below represent the number of school children they were willing to sacrifice in exchange for the NRA money they received.

John McCain: 33.1
Richard Burr: 29.9
Roy Blunt: 19.4
Thom Tillis:18.9
Cory Gardner: 16.6
Marco Rubio: 14.1
Joni Ernst: 13.3
Rob Portman: 13.1
Todd Young: 12.3
Bill Cassidy: 12.2
