The question was limiting. As if mass shootings at schools are somehow the only homicides. Or are they just the only homicides that really matter?

The US averages 43 homicides a day.

Of course, now I read that in 8 of the 17 school shootings, nobody was even injured, and that two of 17 were attempted suicides, with no attempt to harm anybody else.

Perhaps 1,800 homicides matter more than just "school shootings"? And that a country with zero school shootings but a homicide rate that is ten times ours is not really a 'win' for the other team?

We could look at other mass casualty shootings as well, and ask a similar question.
