One of the papers I print has an article in tomorrow's edition that says someone is calling Tea Party members, claiming to be a national Tea Party Organization, and asking for contributions.
There IS no national Tea Party organization, and the people asking for the money are believed to be confidence men.
I realize no one here would donate to the tea party (some of us would donate to a charity seeking to get rid of it, but that's different), but many of us have teabagger relatives so...use as necessary.

(46,327 posts)The original Boston Tea Party was a drunken party.
Today's Tea Party is funded by super-rich robber barons like the Koch Brothers, run by dirty-trick political operatives, and promoted by fake "news" agencies like Faux "news."
Even their key statements, ("We're taxed enough already!" is false, taxes are lower than they were before the 1920's.

(5,312 posts)..a few business related contacts, who, if they gave their $$$ to a "legitimate" Bagger group, I would be unhappy.
If, on the other hand, their Bagger tithes went to scammers, I would be happy that the $$$ they spent for "legit" Bagger causes went into the pockets of greedy con men, other than the "official" Baggers' con-men pockets.
So, in other words, I wouldn't worry about it...your Bagger friends/relatives were gonna blow their $$$ anyway.

(180 posts)Their scammers are just savvy businessmen who found a way to make money, right? Nothing wrong with that. They might even be job creators!

If there's money left over we can donate it to a Democratic organization.
