Carroll County Schools ban of Confederate flag (MD)

A public school district in Maryland is moving to ban the Confederate flag and swastikas in its dress code, according to reports out of the Baltimore Sun and the Carroll County Times.
Carroll County Public Schools, from the county located just south of the border from Adams County in Pennsylvania, announced Wednesday night its steps to institute the ban on clothing, memorabilia, on vehicles on school grounds, and at school-sponsored events, the article states. The new dress code is expected to be explored at the March school board meeting.
Superintendent Stephen Guthrie made clear this was his decision, and not a school board decision, as dress code is not regulated by the school board.
