Their hands are already drenched in the blood of the fallen so why not? In addition to offering thoughts and prayers they should experience the bloody aftermath of their policies or lack thereof.

(22,130 posts)and let them deal w/ the aftermath of these numerous gun crimes, and its impact on families, cities, hospitals, etc. Demand that they serve 30 days minimum.
Our history has many examples of why carrying guns like in the early history of the US was eventually phased out (expect as more law-abiding citizens flooded into the west, the need diminished, among other reasons.).
I am not advocating the total ban of guns or anything like that. But there are very good things that can be done and implemented to address the use of guns in crimes, especially of passion.
However, there are now so many guns in society, that I don't think that they are many solutions such as gun buybacks etc. are very effective. Tougher sentences on gun violence also hasn't worked (like the pot rules, don't work against overwhelming use of pot in society today, thus, instead, legalize it, and perhaps regulate the market, which might have an impact on the underground/unregulated pot markets).
However, some cities are advocating gun buybacks, and special courts in gun violence cases. Our police and / or military guys should be listened to more by politicians (victims aren't being listened too for sure!), for suggestions on handling gun violence. At least start somewhere.
The 2nd amendment on the right to guns was, I think, implicit in that 'responsible' citizens would own guns, as well as act as a safeguard to the wellbeing of this country. It didn't specify that crazy people could or should have guns, or anything like that (a normal person would read into something and derive that normal, sane people should have a right to gun ownership, not 'crazies').
They knew what crazy was too, back then, being that King George III was crazy later in his rule/reign. Perhaps a change to the wording to the 2nd Amendment? Of course, this will never, ever, go anywhere. Too many people who want their guns...and that's okay, if they can prove to society that they are responsible citizens.
I think that the amendments and constitution would imply some kind of responsibility on the part of citizens too, besides that of the governing bodies of this country (executive, legislative, and courts).

(10,175 posts)Putin and his Russian criminal gang gave big bucks to the NRA and also used the NRA to launder money to GOP politicians and Trump.
Are Putin and Trump, and anyone else involved in NRA dark money, responsible for this outcome? Are they enablers of mass school shootings? You've got to wonder.
