The leadership of the @NRA has an agenda and it ain’t got a damn thing to do with gun rights. It’s 100% about gun sales. This Republican Congress is trading the lives of children for campaign contributions.

We will win. This will not go on forever.

2. Laws in this country originate with private companies

The purpose of "laws" made in this country is to maximize profit to certain industries such as oil, gas, and private investment firms. You can add the weapons industry to that list. Public welfare and safety do not have a lobby. They do not generate profit.

Until this dynamic changes, there will be no improvement in existing gun laws, and they are likely to get worse before they get better.

5. Our lobby at one time was supposedly congress and the presidency, etc. That is gone. "We the people"

no longer have a representative voice. Now, it's who has the most money, and most people are seen as in the way. That, is how great the US is today.

The US is an example of destructive Capitalism, approaching its worst. Our votes don't even count, the Electoral College does as they damn well please and the hell with the people. Huge corporations are now considered just another person thanks to Citizens United. It is a cruel joke to consider the US a democracy. Give it a few more years and where will it be ...

6. I also suspect they are money laundering

They collect “donations “ from Russian oligarchs and funnel it as bribes to politicians in the guise of campaign “donations “. Some evangelical churches run a similar scam. We can’t follow the money easily because it is routed through PACs, charities and non-profit entities. Not all, mind you. But there are some key organizations that are seriously compromised and corrupted.
