Hey, NRA, all I'm lookin' for is a solution
I'm trying desperately not to go over to my NRA lovin' coworker and scream at him, "ALL I WANT IS A SOLUTION!". Us liberals have offered up a demonstrably effective solution for better than 30 years. They've stopped it. Fine, it's a democracy. So it's time for them to step up. "A good guy with a gun" hasn't worked. Open carry, shall issue, arming pilots, arming teachers, arming every nut case that wants one hasn't worked. They oppose medicare for all, Obamacare, medicaid, mandates, you name it. But they prattle on about "it's a mental health problem". Background checks, gun show loop holes, registration, licensing, all of this is apparently a bridge too far for them. But 8 school shootings in 7 weeks, THAT'S okay.
It's NOT okay and I want something that can at least MASQUERADE a solution. But what we're doing now, it ain't working and hasn't been for a really long time.
