Look in the mirror, America
If you want to understand the world around you, start by taking a good long look in the mirror. You are the one common denominator in your life. No matter where you go, what you do, there you are. Chances are, your perception of the world has a lot more to do with you than it does with anyone or anything else.
I think thats true for us as a community, too. We have had another mass shooting in America. Again, in a school. There have been 50 school shooting since Columbine. Since April of 1999. Nearly 20 years of school shootings. Eighteen this year alone.
Look in the mirror, America. Dead children dont matter. Let that sink in a minute. Take a minute to call me a snowflake or a libtard or have a drink of my liberal tears. But then let that sink in.
Weve become so dysfunctional as a society that dead babies dont matter.
We have a president that declares he could shoot someone on 5th Ave and no one would care. Look in the mirror, America.
We have politicians taking millions from the gun lobby saying no laws could have prevented it. And we let them get away with that lie. We let them loot our treasury to wage constant wars against invisible enemies but for dead babies we get thoughts and prayers for everyone. Look in the mirror, America.
A man wearing a turban kills our citizens and we will shut down our immigration process to protect us. Weve become so conditioned to be outraged about terrorists, and drugs that we will spend billions to prevent them from hurting us but were not outraged about dead children. Look in the mirror, America.
Our right to own a weapon of war is more important to us than dead babies. Look in the mirror, America.
And maybe send letters to your representatives instead of thoughts and prayers to the families of dead babies.
