I heard the sound of a bullet whiz 1 foot away as it passed my face while walking down a safe, well lit street in a city.
I have had to lead "routine" active shooter drills for my first graders.
I have had a classroom door that only opens out and can only be locked FROM THE OUTSIDE!

(38,313 posts)That includes people who keep guns for "self-defense."
That includes most cops.
The second amendment is bullshit in this modern age of automatic weapons. It needs to be done away with, especially the current interpretations that allow any dangerous fool to arm themselves, legally or not. Our nation turned against slavery, which was originally Constitutional, and we can turn against gun fuckery.
There are too many guns in the U.S.A. and it's too easy to get them. Gun fetishists keep buying them, thieves keep stealing them from careless owners.
It's past time to melt most existing guns down, severely restrict the market for new guns, and turn all that steel into something useful.

(51,593 posts)I don't get the point of posting that with a gun picture.

(205,405 posts)You and I don't see ads, but this member does. I think the point was to show how prevalent pro gun advertising has become. We even see it here.

(205,405 posts)That's my take on this, anyway. I think the member's point was that this kind of rhetoric is everywhere, even here. And that it's very ironic, considering your post - and the views of other members here, especially considering the conversation today.

(4,461 posts)... showing the irony that the ad accompanying your post was for a firearm. Perhaps the content of your post triggered the ad monkeys to que it up. I dont think it was a threat.

(7,911 posts)Why the hell would that be a threat?
I'm merely pointing out how pervasive guns are that gun ads appear in an anti-gun post. How does THAT get misinterpreted?
