Gunman Shot People Through Walls & Doors. On Miller Show Right Now.

Caller on Miller show was saying it does not matter if you hide because assault weapons will shoot through walls, tables, doors and metal. So you do not have to see the victim. So a savvy gunman can just spray everything. What most people do not realize is that very little stops these projectiles except heavy objects. Most school walls are paper thin.

Hiding will help but not totally protect you.

And it's not really true these days, either. The classroom areas at many schools in my area are largely made up of what used to be called "temporary classroom buildings." None of those have concrete block walls, but they're cheap.

Your generalization is false, as generalizations often are.

Many newly constructed in recent years. I stand by my statement.

Most schools in L.A. county are so overcrowded that temporary buildings are put on the campuses to hold additional classrooms. Those temporary buildings are certainly NOT made of concrete walls, so your statement, which you apparently stand by, is not true.

A better solution would be to build a 1-1.5 inch thick slab of high density impact resistant plastic in the wall, on all sides. The plastic can be used in place of glass for windows, but tends to yellow with years of exposure to sunlight.

It should be noted that most handguns, shotguns and hunting rifles also fire projectiles that easily penetrate walls. Especially when one considers many walls just have 1/2 inch drywall on both sides of a 2X4 or 2X6 frame.

In apartments, public buildings, construction is done as cheap as possible, drywall Hung on both sides of retainers.

.223 isn't a "cement buster" rd. You can do several hits...and break blocks but it's not a direct penetration rd. Not a metal buster by any stretch.
I assume it's why this freak pulled the fire alarm(if reports are accurate).... to get kids OUT of the protection of the class rooms

If it is thick enough, about an inch, it should stop most bullets. The plastic is better than brick and lighter that equally thick steel.
