My expectation for Trump's solution to these mass shooting incidents?

I fully expect Trump and his acolytes to take the tack of "cracking down on these weirdos" as a way to stop the violence.

Is mental health an aspect? Sure, but they will take the overly simplified tack of saying we need to keep closer tabs on all who differ from "the norm."

I've spent most of my life among societal outsiders: artists, musicians, writers and general free spirits. In high school, we were all labeled as "weirdos" by our peers, a designation that often continued into adulthood where we're viewed with suspicion by those most attracted to the GOP.

From what I've seen of American society, I'm half-expecting the latest tragedy to be used as a way to cast more suspicion on those reluctant to march lockstep with a stereotype of American "normalcy" birthed in the 1950s, refined through the Reagan Era and honed in a post-9/11 zeitgest.

Already the sheriff is asking for the power to grab people they consider ill, force them into an evaluation and allow them to search their homes and social media, all without a warrant or actual probable cause.
