FiveThirtyEight: According to qualitative assessments by nonpartisan handicappers Cook Political Report, Sabatos Crystal Ball and Inside Elections, only eight GOP-held governorships are completely safe in 2018. That leaves 18 Republican-held governorships in some degree of danger.

Citizens United will be very busy.
Fingers are crossed but the dirty tricks will come fast and furious.

(6,377 posts)Rick Scott won both his 2010 and 2014 elections by less than 1 percentage point. Both were in big red wave years. A strong Democratic candidate running in this environment could very well win.

(17,006 posts)I know he's gone but it would be so nice to have a dem gov and for him to not win Nelson's Senate seat. Florida deserves better than this.

2/3 of the states have to vote for it, which is one reason they have been grabbing Governorships.

(23,099 posts)Scott is not liked and Nelson is but Russian repugs hacked the vote in Broward and Hialeah counties in the general so will have to have lots of Puerto ricans voting blue to overpower their treachery.
