(31,157 posts)your cartoons. Always like to see how the world sees us. it's embarrassing.
I was catching a cab from my hotel to Munich airport and the cabby asked me what I thought of Bush, the dim one. This was in 2007. I was able to express my honest feelings...I know I can't do that today without a lot o profanity.

The repukes really don't care. I remember the day when true Republicans cared about the country. Not anymore...they've sold their souls. And their elevator to heaven has only one direction...down.
I hope they rot in hell.

(17,984 posts)It's a serious question. Some are getting there, but none are close to some of the downright visceral hatred our cartoons show for the orange menace. So I wonder if it is a cultural thing or if they are afraid of causing offense. Something to think about.

(5,101 posts)I don't think it is a cultural thing. I do not post all cartoons because some might break DU rules.
I think cartoonists try to balance between their true hatred to Trump and avoiding to offense Americans who are undergoing this nightmare.

At least it is comforting to know that he is despised worldwide.

(5,101 posts)I think the gun cult is one of the hardest think to understand for us.
We have more or less same level quality of life (Americans and Europeans), more or less same values, we live in countries where freedom is not only an empty word.
Here, we have very strict gun control, we are not at all allowed to own one, unless hunters and under very stricts conditions. We don't feel deprived from any kind of freedom. Why isn't it the same in the US ? Unless in specific areas or for hunters, who need a gun ? To protect from what ? Bears in schools ????
