What about the people who sell concessions at movie theaters?
What about the bartenders at nightclubs?
What about the musicians performing at outdoor concerts?
What about people in the workplace - maybe all office managers and administrators?
What about ministers or other spiritual leaders?
What about fast-food employees?
What about postal workers?
Since the venues for mass shootings are virtually unlimited, the only sensible response is to arm people EVERYWHERE.

(19,429 posts)Every building that I've worked in has had a guard service checking IDs and providing other services. Some buildings had armed guards, while others were unarmed. In the latter case, there may well have been armed backup.
There are about one million sworn law enforcement officers, about another million armed guards, and roughly a million unarmed guards.
Total employment in law enforcement and guards employed by services and directly by organizations is about the same as the number of teachers.
Therefore, adding one officer/guard per 10 teachers would only increase total officer/guard count by 10%. This is something that should be considered.
