I don't know quite what to think.

Sounds like a Democrat to me, and I've been a Democrat all my life.

(53,815 posts)Why is there always divisive crap around them?
Just run as independents and leave the Democrat Party out of all the uncertainty as to who they are.
Now you're saying he didn't back the NRA witch defending trump.
Who are we supposed to believe?

(9,527 posts)Levi Sanders has a serious problem in trying to run as a Democrat.

(16,869 posts)Im sorry but Im sick and tired of this Identity politics alienates... fill in the blank. Newsflash Levi, poor whites are not the only hard working, low income class demographic in this country. The world does not revolve around this idea that the white working class doesnt have a voice. Maybe, and I realize this may be too much for his brain to wrap around, but maybe the working class whites that voted for trump werent so much concerned about economics as they were about race and their status and their Faux News warped belief that somehow empowering and supporting minority workers was taking something from them. How about the idea of bringing up all boats and the radical idea that if we support rights and empowerment of minorities that all in the country will benefit? I guess thats too complex for Levi.
My advice to Levi: take your bullshit that youve been spewing over to the GOP side, it certainly aligns better there.

(6,035 posts)Because I used to be a white male leftist asshole so I am fluent in their dogs whites
When they say "working class" they mean white people and the top concern must be to cater to their fragile egos who are threatened by this intelligent woman of color.
I am now a pragmatic Progressive Democratic.
I might still be a bit of an asshole

(10,174 posts)very far as a Democrat. Unfortunately for Levi his father's star seems to be waning and the magic name is not quite so powerful any more. The fact that these once obscure tweets have gone viral is a bad sign for Levi, I think.
Me.
(35,454 posts)but not gazillions of AA people there either. Point of interest, he's running in a district he doesn't live in, but that is legal in that state, how that may be playing against him. He's certainly making some sad sack moves.

No apologies if I'm offending any of the Levi-bros around here.
On edit:
After doing a bit of my own research, it looks like there are some actual, real democrats running in this race:
https://ballotpedia.org/New_Hampshire%27s_1st_Congressional_District_election,_2018
Mark S. Mackenzie - State Rep.[10]
Deaglan McEachern[11]
Mindi Messmer - State Rep.[12]
Terence O'Rourke[13]
Chris Pappas[14]
Levi Sanders[15]
Lincoln Soldati[16]
Maura Sullivan
In my quick review, I've been most impressed with, in this order: Maura Sullivan, Mark S. Mackenzie, Terence O'Rourke, and Mindi Messmer. If I had to narrow it down at this point, I'd probably make it Maura and Mark, with Maura getting my contributions.
There's plenty of information at the link. Let's talk about who else is running, and see who to focus on.

(22,920 posts)Being white is an identity.
Being poor is an identity.
Being working class is an identity.
Constituents have different priorities based on many factors. To me, all politics is identity politics. Is this term simply a current dog whistle for THOSE PEOPLE?

(63,221 posts)Levi, like his father only care about working class WHITE MEN. They could give a damn about people of color, women, LGBT's or any other marginalized group. They are NOT on our side.

(15,289 posts)But I was shocked when she had Tom Perez on after Doug Jones won in ALA and just harranged him about the DNC not hiring enough minority campaign firms. Perez said they did hire minority outreach groups for that election, but she wouldn't let up. I have never seen her treat a fellow Democrat so rudely. Maybe she was still upset he beat out Ellison, but she sure seemed bent on giving Perez what for.
