Been out shopping...has Twittens been up to anything yet today? Am not amused by....
the discussion I heard on the Diane Rehm show on NPR this AM (domestic news Friday roundup). The either fake or real naivety exhibited by the panel was breathtaking. It was constant false equivalence (both sides do this, both sides do that)...taking quotes out of context (essentially creating/repeating repub talking points), and asking dumb questions (do negative ads really work)? DUH?
As usual, I try to call in, get a busy signal, sit there and steam and how the media seems to have a complete inability to hold any sort of complex nuanced thought in their heads for two seconds. They try to paint everything into a sound bite (which of course becomes a right wing talking point - it is who they are - authoritarian, black and white). They dumb it down - and this equivalence stuff - sometimes there is indeed a right way, and a wrong way.
Never once did it come up that maybe one of the reasons the economy has struggled so mightily is because the right wing is sabotaging any sort of positive change. Obama can only do so much - but if all of his tools are taken away....
