Flake Predicts Trump will Get a Primary Challenge

Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) told CNN that he thinks President Trump will and should have a Republican challenger in the 2020 presidential election.

Said Flake: “I do think the President will have a challenge from the Republican Party. I think there should be. I also think that there will be an independent challenge.”

While he said it’s “not something I’m planning,” Flake did not rule out mounting a third party challenge to Trump.

He's trying to make himself out to be the "Sane Republican(tm)". He's still a reactionary, theocratic, right-winger, though, and not to be trusted.

Also those laws have not been tested in the courts and I believe they are unconstitutional. States can't impose ballot eligibility that is not in the Constitution.

The bigger question would be, will Trump be able to tinker with the GOP primary process to tip the scales in his favor, or will the GOP old guard hold firm in maintaining a level playing field?
