The GOP controls the Federal Government.

The GOP knows that Trump is a useful tool.

They will do nothing to anger Trump voters.

It is that basic.

Impeachment comes from the House. The House Judiciary Committee votes on articles of impeachment, and if the committee refers any of them to the full House, they have to approve them by a simple majority. The Judiciary Committee currently consists of 23 Republicans and 17 Democrats. Among the Republicans are "stars" like Sensenbrenner, Darrell Issa, Louis Gohmert, Trey Gowdy and Matt Gaetz. You really think there's a chance in Hell that bunch would vote for any articles of impeachment against Trump?

And even if they did, The GOP still holds a majority in the House

After that there is a trial by the Senate, presided over by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. The Senate has to vote to convict by 2/3. Currently the GOP also controls the Senate.

So: The only way for impeachment and conviction is for the Democrats to regain control of both the House and the Senate, by solid margins.

As to the 25th Amendment, the Vice President and a majority the cabinet officers have to notify the Congress in writing that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Is that going to happen? I don't think so.

I hate to be a party pooper, but there is no chance of getting Trump out of office unless and until Democrats take control of Congress.

Why would you suggest that????

"We" being all of us. We are rapidly approaching a trade war, that will not be good for all of us. A nuclear war with North Korea will not be good for all of us.

You are right, we the Dems need to win big this fall. However, some things impact all Americans.

I see a lot of unrealistic demands that "we" do something, when "we," that is, the people who are not in Congress, currently have no power to do a damn thing. Some people even suggest revolution (these usually do not end well). The only thing we can do is GOTV and vote the bastards out of office. Even if Mueller's investigation turns up incontrovertible evidence of serious crimes, chances are the GOP House will not vote to impeach, and since Watergate the position of the DoJ is that a sitting president can't be indicted. So we are stuck with him unless he quits or drops over dead from an overdose of Big Macs.

That even repubs have a breaking point. They don't want to see wars, neither trade nor nuclear.
