The question I think politically for the RNC is; how do you develop that ground game to make sure your base is not just focused on the president, but those candidates that are also going to be on the ballot in his name.
----------------
The 2014 midterms: Obama had a dip in popularity. Democratic candidates tried to run as Democrats while simultaneously putting distance between them and Obama. The Democrats lost the midterms big-time.
The 2018 midterms: Trump is unpopular. Republicans are trying to run as Republicans while simultaneously putting distance between them and Trump.

(17,219 posts)If enough Dems vote, then the thing should be assured. Provided something doesn't come up to turn everything topsy-turvy. Many months to the elections. And remember, the GOP hasn't even started its war, yet.

(12,265 posts)I hate this kind of stuff, it makes Democrats think it is a slam dunk and it is not. Wait until people of color show up to vote in red states and are turned away because they have been "removed from the voter rolls". It is going to happen, mark my words. We have to remain vigilant and VOTE! Take your friends, take your neighbors but VOTE. Check your voter registration before it is to late to fix it if there is an issue, find out what you need to prove who you are to vote. VOTE VOTE VOTE.
