This latest bit from Mr Romney is in some ways the most puzzling yet. "This is one of the most important events in my wife's life, but I don't care and am too busy to be with her. Oh, but I wish her luck."
If he's telling the truth, then... what kind of man is he?
If he's lying, then... what kind of man thinks that kind of attitude will find sympathy with anyone?

(24,689 posts)I suppose he trying to look "Presidential" and not be bothered with such mundane things as "the most important event" in his wife's life.

(14,177 posts)His behavior is bizarre even for a Republican. I hope that is a paraphrasing of something he said, that is probably just as bad, but without the "I don't care" part. Really, "I don't care". Even if that is true, what you say is "I regret that my campaign is taking me away from being with my wife during this important event." Even I know that.

(17,216 posts)"Its a big, exciting experience for my wife. I have to tell you, this is Anns sport. Im not even sure which day the sport goes on. She will get the chance to see it, I will not be watching the event. I hope her horse does well."
So I cop to "I don't care" being an extrapolation from the statement.

(14,177 posts)Actually that sounds worse, now that I have just thought about it. He doesn't know what day the sport goes on? Does he ever even talk to his wife. Or does she still speak to him? That sounds really strange. I think he should at least have enough communication with his wife to know what day her horse is competing. Or maybe they only talk about horses when they are trying to decide how much they should give them for pain killers.
