Bolton on Fox today: New round of talks will let NK get deliverable nuclear weapon by year's end

With the news that Bolton met with Trump today, and all the rumors that he'll replace McMaster, what Bolton is saying today about the Korean talks seems more relevant:

Former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton downplayed the prospect of an agreement for North Korea to freeze or give up its nuclear weapons program.

A South Korean delegation met with Kim Jong Un over the past two days, reporting that Kim is open to “heart-to-heart” talks with the U.S. on denuclearization. Kim is also said to have committed to not using nuclear or conventional weapons against Seoul and potentially giving up the nuclear program if "threats" against the regime subside.

On "America's Newsroom," Bolton expressed serious doubts about the North's sincerity, characterizing it as a strategic move so they can push across the finish line on a nuclear missile that can reach the United States.

"The only thing North Korea is serious about is getting deliverable nuclear weapons," he said, questioning why Pyongyang would stop just a "few yards away from the finish line in year 26."

Bolton said direct and indirect talks with North Korea have occurred for the last 25 years and never end up successful. He said if a new round of talks begins, North Korea will possess a deliverable nuclear weapon by the end of the year.

Begin a speech with “North Korea will participate in peace talks based on two conditions. One, the United States must abandon its massive nuclear weapons program, as well as its biological and chemical warfare research. Secondly, it must hand over all war criminals — such as George Bush and John Bolton to the international criminal court for prosecution for crimes against humanity.”

By “love” I mean “appreciate the dark irony.” The United States does not have the moral authority to lecture Koreans on anything.
