A mandatory evacuation in the Santa Barbara Monticeto Carpinteria burn areas. The alert went out

yesterday and everyone below the burn areas was ordered to evacuate by 8:00 PM last night.

We are expecting a heavy rain today and possibly all this week. They expect a heavy mud flow today. The 101 frwy could be closed at any time. That could trap workers from the Ventura area and Carpinteria area in Santa Barbara today.

I live in Santa Maria but my wife works in Goleta where there was a fire last year.

There could be mud slides in places below all three fires we had since last year, the Thomas fire being the largest one in CA history.

I believe this is a result of climate change.

and other DUers may have homes in evacuation areas. Thanks for the info, Wasupaloopa. Climate change's increased heat and drought and heavier irregular rains have to be involved.

Best wishes to all.
