Of course every woman does NOT adore a fascist, and Plath’s poem is filled with provocative and often contradictory statements. But about Trump — some people (not just some women of course) seem to be drawn to Trump for the worst reasons. I saw one of his rally attendees being interviewed about why he liked Trump, and he responded in an incoherent mash of sentences regurgitating White House/Trump campaign talking points that Trump is SO tough, such a MAN, and always says what he’s thinking without being PC. They think he’s a tough guy. The guy also said “he’s bringing back our steel jobs” (sigh. It makes me sad these people fell so hard for his pack of lies).

Yeah, I don’t get the “handsome devil” fixation either. Trump is not even just average — he is and always has been a very unattractive man even before he opens his yapper. Tiny pig eyes, truly horrible combover filled with hair products (how can she not be grossed out by that nest on his head?), the bad tanning, the turkey neck, no jawline despite his best efforts to shove it out, and of course, he’s obese.
