Marla was contented enough to put up with Trump being Trump. But it was reported that she was discovered on a deserted beach at 4:30 a.m. in Florida, full of sand and with her bodyguard. Trump didn't like the optics. Behind her back, he filed for divorce and let her find out about it by reading the New York Daily News. (Also a motivation for divorce: Trump was on a deadline per the pre-nup with Marla. He had to divorce her before being married 5 years to minimize her settlement.)
