Barack Obama's $6 dinner table preserved for posterity in Vietnam

A table where former US President Barack Obama ate with chef Anthony Bourdain on an official trip to Vietnam two years ago has gone on display.

The table, complete with dinner set and empty beer bottles, has been encased in glass.

The owners of the Hanoi street food restaurant where the two men ate for $6 (£4) on plastic stools say the idea came from their customers.

They wanted to see where Mr Obama had sat and what he had eaten.

It was such a contrast. Seeing a president that the world loved and was cheering on and having an interesting intelligent conversation with bourdain.

We will get this back again.

and I just want to cry. I miss his steady, calming manner. I felt SAFE, even when there was such turmoil going on around us. Knowing what he endured every day from those who are now holding the reins of power and driving us off the cliff, I honestly don't know how he did it, but i'm so glad he did.

Knowing he was our President for 8 years makes me feel fortunate that I was alive while he made history. My heart aches for him - that he has to look at everything he accomplished be destroyed because of that racist hatred.

But you know, he is very quiet right now. I don't think for a minute that he is just sitting back and watching this happen.... he probably has allot more freedom right now to advise and I hope that he is doing that. we need to not only win in November, but we need to have a PLAN for when we win. Swatting away the obstruction that we will face will not help. We need to start putting into place a plan for repairing - again - and moving our country forward again.

Two steps forward, 1 step back - we MUST keep moving forward and we better start thinking about our leadership and getting the majority of Americans behind a PLAN. The fact that we are putting Democrats back in leadership positions should tell our representatives that we expect them to get busy. It is time to organize and get people behind several CORE initiatives. I'm really shaking my head that this isn't being better organized right now because November will be here before you know it.

Hey - speaking of someone who is an expert at organizing..... President Obama - we need you.

Wonder if there is a McDonald's out there that has an empty bag, empty large fries box, and a fish fillet wrapper encased in plastic?
