Satan. That's why until relatively recently left-handed kids were forced to become right-handed (which often led to speech disorders). In some countries, southpaws were still being forced to change even more recently.

When my (then) husband and I used to take a study-abroad group to Spain in the 1970s, the Spaniards were shocked to see our students writing postcards with their left hands. They wondered why they hadn't been corrected while they were still young enough to change.
