Does Trump have a secret private line to Vladimir Putin?

Reportedly, we found out about his call to Putin this morning from the Russian media?

There were efforts during and after the campaign to set up a secret communications line with Russia by Jared Kushner, who wanted it ran out of the Russian Embassy, and by Erik Prince, who met the Russians on a remote island in the Indian Ocean.

But, did our Intelligence know about Trump's call to Putin to congratulate him on his victory? We know that he was warned to not congratulate Putin, but he went ahead anyway. We have to assume our National Security team knows what is happening.

Did he make the call from the White House or from some other place?

He was going to keep his call a secret, it appears? Although he did admit to making the call when he was asked about it from a pool of reporters.

I can't imagine a secure clandestine channel would be all that hard to do these days. Girard442 Mar 2018 #1

Seems to me it's fairly irrelevant whether it's voice or not.
