They want it both ways and so far, they have been successful.
Those like Paul Ryan, who brag that they are proud of all the "great" legislation he has signed into law and all the regulations, that were passed for the benefit of the people, that have been repealed.
Then they are silent. They do not rush to defend his personal affairs or his criminal activities. They know they are there. But they just ignore them.

(16,103 posts)He won't behave any better then Trump, in fact he'll be worse! He is the one being held responsible for the decision to not allow transgenders to serve in the military...that Trump signed off on!
His views on the LGBT community is well known, as are his views on a woman's right to choose!
No, Pence wouldn't behave better...the moment he entered the Oval office the attacks on Gay Americans would begin, and won't stop until he's forced Congress to make being Gay illegal and has every Gay in this country rounded up and put into camps!!!
