'Something Attracted Me to You': Accused Parkland Gunman Receiving Love Letters, Fan Mail
Nikolas Cruz's commissary account has also received hundreds of dollars in contributions
Published at 8:12 PM EDT on Mar 28, 2018 | Updated 50 minutes ago
The Broward County jail is receiving love letters and fan mail addressed to Nikolas Cruz, the accused gunman in the Parkland school shooting tragedy, according to the public defender's office.
The South Florida Sun Sentinel reports that it obtained copies of some of the correspondence, including greeting cards, letters and photographs, sent to Cruz.
Cruz's commissary account has also received hundreds of dollars in contributions, which can be used by inmates to buy food, drinks, hygiene products and other items.

People are also joining Facebook and other online communities to discuss how to help the accused gunman. Hashtags are being spread by sympathizers showing support for Cruz.
Broward County public defender Howard Finkelstein's office is representing Cruz. Finkelstein told the Sun Sentinel he has never seen a defendant receive so many letters in his 40 years as a public defender.

This is disgusting. And dangerous, because now, thanks to the pervasiveness of the internet, the one-in-ten-thousand that approve of him can gather together as a community and glorify him. One in ten thousand is 32,000 people in America... it's THOSE people that worry me. And it worries me that I might be lowballing his appeal!
